DiscountLime FAQ

Practical answers about sale scheduling, credits, setup, and your Etsy shop.

What is DiscountLime?

DiscountLime is a Chrome extension for Etsy sellers who repeat the same sale setup. It works inside Shop Manager’s Sales and Discounts workflow. You choose the discount, dates, and whole-shop or section scope, then start the extension to create the planned sales. It is an independent tool, not an Etsy product.

What is an Etsy sale scheduler?

An Etsy sale scheduler helps prepare promotions for selected dates. DiscountLime creates a series of daily sales using the settings you provide, reducing repeated form entry. You still review the intended dates, prices, and listings. Scheduling a promotion does not guarantee extra orders or a particular position in Etsy search.

What does “ending soon” mean on Etsy?

“Ending soon” refers to Etsy’s display of a promotion approaching its end. Etsy controls whether and where the label appears. A short sale has a real end time; the extension does not directly add a badge. Check the actual listing and keep your promotional message consistent with the terms customers see.

Can I choose individual sections instead of the whole shop?

Yes. Choose the shop or section scope before starting. For section-based runs, check the spelling and the selected listings, particularly when section names share a word. A whole-shop sale and a section sale can include the same listings, so review your existing promotions before creating another sequence.

Does the extension keep running with my browser closed?

The setup automation runs in your browser after you press Start. Keep the Etsy page available and avoid changing pages while it is creating sales. Once a sale has been created in Etsy, Etsy manages its scheduled dates. Do not assume an unfinished extension run will continue after closing Chrome.

How many credits do I need?

At the current rate, each generated daily sale uses one credit. A three-day series for one scope uses three credits. Separate sequences can use additional credits even when their dates match. Your dashboard shows the balance, and the extension checks whether you have enough for the requested run.

Is there a free start or a subscription?

New accounts start with 30 free credits. This is a one-time starter balance, not three free days every month. When you need more runs, buy a credit pack from your dashboard. Packs are one-time purchases, so you control when to refill instead of paying a recurring monthly subscription.

Does DiscountLime need my Etsy password?

No. Sign in to Etsy yourself in Chrome; DiscountLime works on the sale setup page you already have open. Your DiscountLime account and license are separate from your Etsy password. Never email either a password or a sign-in code to support, and install the extension from its official Chrome Web Store listing.

Is DiscountLime endorsed by Etsy?

No. DiscountLime is independent and is not affiliated with or endorsed by Etsy. The extension uses Etsy’s visible sales workflow, but you remain responsible for your shop, promotion terms, and compliance with Etsy’s current policies. Using the tool is not a guarantee that every promotion you configure is permitted.

What should I do if a run stops?

First check Etsy’s existing sales to see what was created, then check the DiscountLime usage log and remaining credits. Do not repeatedly start the same sequence without checking for overlap. If the cause is unclear, contact support with the date, browser version, and relevant screen details, excluding private account credentials.

Can I change or cancel a sale?

Review the promotion in Etsy Sales and Discounts and use the controls Etsy provides for that sale. Changing settings for a future extension run does not necessarily alter a promotion already created in Etsy. Check the final discount, listing scope, and dates after any change rather than relying only on saved extension settings.

Will running sales improve my search ranking?

A promotion changes the offer customers see; it does not guarantee a search-ranking improvement. Measure orders, margins, and conversion rates in your own shop, and compare similar periods. Listing relevance, product quality, customer experience, and demand still matter. DiscountLime’s purpose is to reduce repetitive setup work.

Can I use it on the Etsy mobile app?

DiscountLime is a Google Chrome extension for desktop browsers. The instructions here describe Etsy Shop Manager in Chrome, not the Etsy mobile app. You can read your account and our guides on a phone, but use a supported desktop Chrome browser for the extension’s sale setup workflow.

How can I reach the team before signing up?

Email support@discountlime.com or open the public Contact page. An account is not required to ask about the product. Existing customers can also use the support form when signed in. We usually respond within one business day; include enough context to identify the page or setup step you need help with.
